We are officially a certified Green Business as of 2019! 
Certified Green Businesses follow guidelines for energy and water conservation, pollution prevention, waste management, employee commute, and community education.

In March 2024, Julie Darrell was nominated as a "Woman of Distinction" by Senator Lena Gonzalez in California's 33rd District. This acknowledgment is for dedication, enthusiasm, and passion for services in the community.

On Earth Day, April 22nd, 2023, Julie Darrell was awarded the Corinne Monroe Earth Day Award by the Teen Climate Council at the Aquarium of the Pacific.  This award is in recognition of outstanding service to people and the planet.

 

As one of the founding members of the Long Beach Reuse Team, BYO is working together on the collective mission to reduce single-use plastic and overall waste through engagement, advocacy, and collaboration to activate reuse initiatives.  Read more about it here.
