Friends and Customers of our BYO at Algalita location, we wanted to share the ways we are changing our mission to meet the needs of the moment. We have found there is so much value in investing in education for students and teachers, and over the past year the Algalita team has been tirelessly working to add programming for educators and youth. Through summer workshops and student camps, Algalita has empowered the next generation to learn about plastic pollution challenges, innovative solutions, career and continuing education, and community engagement for them to be able to make a difference on the local level.
As Algalita continues to focus on education, the store will now be open on a modified schedule.
Starting 8/25/25, BYO at Algalita will be open to the public Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am–3pm.
We are also modifying our schedule for the Sunday Farmers Market in the Marina. Starting in September, BYO will be at the market on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month.
The BYO location in the East Village will remain open 7 days a week. Monday-Friday 11-6 and Saturday/Sunday 11-5.
Stay tuned for any special events or keep up with the social media account for any specialty hours that we may have coming up.
Thank you for your continued support for over 7 years in Long Beach! We are still here, and plan to stick around to be your local resource for reducing plastic pollution, one refill at a time!
